Jason Hare

Early life

In school, Jason Hare earned a degree in optometry from the University of Waterloo. He then went on to earn his Honors Bachelor of Science degree in biology, also from the University of Waterloo.

Then — once he had taken a deep dive into studies of financial markets, business valuations, wealth creation and fundamentals-based investing — Hare won the sought-after Certified Financial Planner designation from the Financial Planner Standards Council. The certification represents a critical benchmark of financial knowledge, competence, and ability to perform at a professional level.

Career

Jason began his celebrated career as an optometrist. Today he provides wealth planning and financial guidance to clients in Kingston, the Greater Toronto Area and throughout the rest of Ontario.

Today, Jason Hare (CFP, H.BSc., OD) is the president and founder of Cornerstone Wealth Planning.

Hare and his team have been relying on their financial business expertise to aid clients for the past 20 years. They have worked with a diverse mix of private companies, public institutions, and nonprofit organizations, allowing them to comfortably take on a large and diverse pool of clients.

At Cornerstone, Hare has said he prioritizes research and planning, providing solutions for businesses looking to improve strategy and long-term outlook. For clients looking to create more wealth for themselves and their families, the firm is constantly monitoring high-yield investment and insurance opportunities.

Jason lives in Kingston’s west end with his wife and his two sons. When he’s not running Cornerstone or spending time at home with his family, Hare has said he likes to go to the golf course.

In addition to this life as a finance guru, Hare spends time and money working with many nonprofit organizations. Those include the Boys and Girls Club of Kingston, the Shop with a Cop charity, and Cataraqui Golf & Country Club’s Rose of Hope Charity Golf Tournament, where he’s been making financial contributions to benefit cancer patients in Eastern Ontario for the last 10 years. He also supports the Leon’s Centre, and the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League.
