Charles Brindamour is the Chief Executive Officer of Intact Financial Corporation, the largest provider of property and casualty insurance in Canada, as well as a leading provider of global specialty insurance.
Brindamour is a graduate of the Université Laval in Actuarial Science and an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society. Brindamour also received an Honorary Ph.D. from HEC Montréal in May 2019.
Brindamour joined Intact Financial Corporation in 1992 and steadily climbed the corporate ladder, holding progressively senior roles in both Canada and abroad, within Intact and its former affiliates. Among the major positions, Brindamour held Senior Vice President of Personal Lines, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In January of 2008, Brindamour was appointed President and CEO of Intact Financial Corporation.

In 2017, Brindamour expanded Intact Financial Corporations’ presence in the United States by acquiring OneBeacon Insurance Group. Most recently, in 2021, Brindamour acquired RSA Insurance plc, which is Intact Financial Corporation’s biggest acquisition to date, growing the company’s premiums from $12 billion to $20 billion. In addition to his many acquisitions, Charles Brindamour is the Chair of the Board of the Geneva Association and is a board member of Intact Financial Corporation, the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Branksome Hall, and the Business Council of Canada.
