Barry Doucette is the Chief Executive Officer of Orangutech, a SharePoint consulting firm that offers Software, Internet & Computer Services.

Education

From 1982 to 1986, Doucette attended Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Finance. While attending university, Doucette spent four years as a varsity athlete on the Golden Hawks Varsity Swim Team.

Career

Barry Doucette began his career at Ericsson Canada, a service provider that offers sales and marketing, research, and software development. From April 1996 to September 2000, Doucette was the Vice President of the Eastern Canada Region, known for growing the company’s revenue from zero to $7.2 million in its second full year of operation. Doucette exceeded Ericsson Canada’s DND objectives, by attaining 125% of revenue and 200% of P&L. From September 2000 to August 2001, Doucette was the Vice President of Sales at Bitflash Inc. Doucette hired all sales staff and opened sales offices in the United States, United Kingdom, and Japan. Doucette aided the company by significantly growing funnel opportunities and initiating face-to-face calls on all key potential clients across North America. After a year with Bitflash Inc., Doucette left and became the Vice President of Client Services at AJJA Technology Consultants Inc. For over four years, Doucette implemented strategic account plans for all the company’s major accounts and increased the number of major clients. In the 25-year history of the company, Doucette directed and led the team that won the largest professional services contract, attaining record revenue and record profit of $85 million over 6 years. From 2007 to 2009, Doucette became the President of Titus International and was responsible for negotiating significant partnership agreements while developing relationships with Microsoft, Entrust and Safenet. He signed the most profitable contract in the history of the company, with profitability greater than 50%. After his time with Titus International, Doucette became the Managing Director of the Staffing Services Department of the Canadian manufacturing company, Calian. He directed sales and recruiting teams in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. In 2011, Doucette increased revenue by 22% (from $27 million to $33 million) and bottom-line by 44% (from $2 million to $2.9 million). From March 2012 – May 2012 Doucette was hired as Managing Director of Orangutech, however quickly climbed the corporate ladder and was named Chief Executive Officer of Orangutech, where he remains today.

Achievement

In 2020, Canadian Business Growth List nominated Doucette among Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies. In addition, the Executive Committee of Canada released their third annual report in 2021, listing Doucette among Canada’s Top Growing Companies.
