Vinh Giang

Adelaide, South Australia, Australia

Primarily known as a world-class keynote speaker and magician, Vinh Giang is also an entrepreneur several times over, having founded Luminary Productions, a company that offers training and development programs for individuals and businesses, as well as Stage Academy, an acclaimed public speaking course for professionals. He is also the co-founder of 52kards, an online platform that provides tutorials for aspiring magicians. Additionally, Vinh Giang is widely recognized for his exemplary communication skills, and because of this is routinely hired to give professional development presentations to some of the world’s largest and most recognizable companies.

Early life

Born on December 15, 1986, in Vietnam, Vinh Giang moved to Australia with his family early in life. He grew up in a family of six, with his parents and three siblings, and attended St. Ignatius’ College, a Catholic high school in Adelaide.

Vinh Giang’s interest in magic started at 14 years old, when he was inspired by a magician who performed at his school. Thereafter, he began practicing magic tricks during his free time. As his magic skills increased, so did his interest in the practice, and he eventually started performing at local events and parties.

After completing high school, he enrolled in a combined program of commerce and law at the University of Adelaide. However, with only six months left until he was set to graduate, he left school to pursue his passion for magic full-time.

Career

After leaving the University of Adelaide, Vinh Giang started teaching magic online, co-founding what would ultimately become a hugely successful web-based business called 52Kards in the process. The company started humbly, but grew steadily more popular, and now serves over 800,000 students all across the globe.

Alongside a hand-picked team of peers, Giang honed his magical chops as a recurring performer at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, one of the world’s largest theater and arts events. Between the years of 2012 and 2015, he displayed his craft there annually, with he and his team earning some of Fringe’s highest accolades, including ‘Top-Reviewed Show’ and ‘Top Voted-For Show’.

As his career as a professional magician continued to gain traction, Vinh Giang started accepting invitations to perform his act for some of the world’s largest and most prestigious companies, including Google, Coca-Cola, and Mercedes-Benz.

In addition to performing magic, Giang also evolved into a highly effective and sought-after keynote speaker and communication expert. In this capacity, he has delivered speeches to audiences of all sizes, from small boardroom meetings to large-scale conferences. To date, he has spoken at more than 80 live events across the world, helping an estimated 100,000 professionals master the subtle-yet-complex art of communication. In his professional development presentations, Vinh Giang integrates storytelling with displays of magic in order to illustrate key business strategies, all the while urging audiences to embrace change and “see the possible in the impossible”. He is noted for exploring themes of perspective, empowerment, goal-setting, and the importance of adopting a positive mindset.

Vinh Giang has been featured on the TEDx talks series, where he has shared his insights on the power of communication and the art of magic.

More recently, Vinh Giang also personally devised and developed Stage Academy, an online course and in-person coaching program that helps both individuals and organizations improve their communication skills in a variety of ways. In the course, he teaches professionals to re-imagine their approach to communication, often espousing the philosophical mantra, “Don’t be so attached to who you are in the present, give the future version of you a chance.”
