Eva Salem started her career in 1993 as a Marketing Manager for BrandsElite International. Her role involved the international creation and launch of a prestige fragrance in 22 countries, executed as part of a highly focused two-person team. She managed all facets of product development, including the fragrance itself, bottle design, packaging, and point-of-sale materials. Furthermore, she was responsible for planning and coordinating high-profile fashion shows, press events, and launch parties in Canada, the USA, Italy, and France.
From 1998 to 2003, Salem worked with famous beauty companies in New York City, including L’Oreal and Estee Lauder Companies. These roles helped her gain experience in brand management, marketing strategy, and consumer engagement. She worked on product launches and brand positioning in highly competitive markets.
In 2003, Salem founded a retail company called Belly Maternity. Starting with a relatively modest investment, she quickly grew the business into a multi-million-dollar operation within the first year. The brand gained attention for its luxury in-store experience and curated product offering, making it stand out in the maternity retail scene. With Salem’s leadership, Belly Maternity grew its presence and built a loyal customer base before she exited the company in 2013.
Following her entrepreneurial success, Salem returned to the corporate world and continued building a career in marketing leadership. She joined Canadian Tire Corporation in 2014 and since then has held senior positions focused on brand and customer strategy. As Senior Vice President, Marketing and Brand, she has directed projects throughout several of the company’s primary banners, including Canadian Tire, Sport Chek, and Mark’s.
Her work has included managing national campaigns, loyalty programs, and digital marketing projects, with a focus on improving customer engagement and modernizing the brand experience. She has also helped match marketing strategy to bigger business goals, helping the company adapt to changing consumer expectations and a more digital retail environment.
