Pet Life Animal Fund

Manitoba, Canada

Pet Life Animal Fund is an animal welfare charity fund based in Manitoba. The organization is managed by the husband-and-wife duo of Clinton Orr and Jodi Ruta, who are lifelong animal lovers and experienced pet owners. The fund aims to support animal charities in Manitoba, specifically covering veterinary bills for animal rescue shelters and promoting awareness by sharing photos of pets in need of adoption.

History

Clinton Orr and Jodi Ruta are passionate animal lovers. In 2012, they adopted a 5-year-old lab cross mix named Bubba from a no-kill shelter. Before joining their family, Bubba was adopted and returned to a shelter twice. Clinton and Jodi had seven joyful years with Bubba before he passed away in 2019.

Bubba’s death inspired Jodi and Clinton to become more involved in animal welfare initiatives. Jodi became a certified dog trainer and started volunteering at D’Arcy’s Arc. The couple also worked for and contributed to several rescue companies. In 2020, the Pet Life Animal Fund was established through a partnership with Charitable Impact, in honour of Bubba.

Over the last five years, the fund has helped cover substantial veterinary bills for rescue agencies and assisted several animals in finding safe homes. Their commitment continues to grow as they strive to expand the fund’s reach and impact, ensuring more animals receive the care and loving homes they deserve.
