Kevin Vuong

Kevin Vuong, MP, FRSA is a Canadian Member of Parliament known for his dedication to public service and community engagement. He is the youngest MP of Asian heritage sitting in the House of Commons.

Early life

Kevin Vuong’s parents instilled in him the values of hard work, resilience, and civic responsibility.  Vuong earned a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Organizational Studies from the University of Western Ontario and later a Global Professional Master of Laws degree from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law. During his academic years, he actively participated in extracurricular activities.

Career

After completing his studies, Vuong embarked on a career focused on public service and community development. His early experiences in government affairs provided him with invaluable insights into the intricacies of policy development and the importance of stakeholder engagement. He earned a reputation for forging partnerships between community organizations, industry stakeholders, and government agencies to develop solutions that prioritize the needs of all Canadians.

In the private sector, Vuong co-founded and served as Chief Operating Officer at Delphic Research Group, Canada’s leading govtech firm. He has built businesses focused on building and investing in Canadian manufacturing and consumer packaged goods ventures. 

In 2015, Vuong joined the Canadian Forces Naval Reserve as an intelligence officer. He completed an occupational transfer to the public affairs branch and was promoted to Sub-Lieutenant in 2021. He served as a public affairs officer at HMCS York and is currently a member of the ship’s Strategic Advisory Team at His Majesty’s Canadian Ship York.

In 2020, Vuong was appointed to Canada’s NATO 2030 Young Leader by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. Vuong is a frequent commentator on news and commentary programs, including a three-year run as a weekly contributor for Newstalk 1010.

As a Special Advisor with APSI, Vuong worked on the Economic and Workforce Development Strategies with Ontario First Nation communities. He is privileged to have served as the first non-Indigenous President of the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto’s Board of Directors. He has also served on the boards of the Vietnamese Association of Toronto and the Chinese Canadian National Council of Toronto. 

Vuong has been a lecturer at both the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine and Western University, teaching courses on the financial markets. He recently served as Vice-President of the Board at NATO Association of Canada, as well as serving on the board of the Together We Stand Foundation in support of Canada’s military families. He is on the Council of Presidents at Western University, where he previously served as Chair of the Dan Management Alumni Advisory Council.
