Calin Rovinescu is a Canadian businessman and corporate leader. He is best known for his role as the President and CEO of Air Canada, one of the largest airlines in the world. Early life

Calin Rovinescu was born in Bucharest, Romania, and immigrated to Canada with his parents and sister when he was five years old. In 1980, Rovinescu graduated from the University of Ottawa where he received his LL.B. In 1978, he graduated from the Université de Montréal where he received his LL.L. In 1974, he received his CEGEP (DEC) from McGill University.

He grew up in Montreal, Quebec, where he completed his primary and secondary education. He then went on to study at Concordia University in Montreal, where he earned a degree in Commerce. After completing his undergraduate degree, he attended the University of Ottawa, where he earned a law degree.

Rovinescu began his career as a lawyer, working with various law firms in Montreal. He then joined the Canadian National Railway Company as a legal advisor and later became the Vice President of corporate and legal affairs. In 1999, he joined Air Canada as Senior Vice President, Legal and Corporate Development. He held various senior management positions within the company and later was appointed as the CEO of Air Canada.
