Jennifer Ménard-Shand is a First Nations Ojibwe and French-Canadian wife, mother, entrepreneur, keynote speaker, and advocate. She is the visionary Founder and CEO of Staff Shop Inc., a certified Indigenous- and women-owned staffing, search, and consulting firm serving clients across North America and the Caribbean. Jennifer is also the Founder and CEO of FireFlames Inc., a health-centric hot sauce brand inspired by her passion for wellness, food, and culture.

Her life’s work centres on reconciliation, servant leadership, breaking generational trauma, and creating legacies worth emulating for generations to come. She inspires others through her personal journey from humble beginnings to entrepreneurial success, demonstrating the power of resilience, faith, and purpose-driven action.

Early life

Born in 1984 and raised in Sudbury, Ontario—the nickel capital of the world—Jennifer is of Ojibwe and French-Canadian heritage. She grew up facing significant challenges, including childhood trauma, addiction in her surroundings, and instability at home. These early experiences, rather than holding her back, ignited her drive to break generational curses and empower others to do the same. Her story is rooted in faith, trust and forgiveness.

Career

Jennifer began her career in 2006 with MLSE, while joining The Bagg Group in 2008—a full-service recruitment company in Toronto, where her talent for building teams and creating inclusive staffing solutions quickly became evident. In 2013, she launched Bagg @ Your Service, the company’s first dedicated hospitality and event staffing division, growing it into a thriving and profitable unit.

In 2018, she acquired the division she had built and rebranded it as Staff Shop Inc. Under her leadership, Staff Shop has grown five-fold since inception and is on a trajectory for 10x growth. The company is Canada’s Master Distributor of The Core Values Index™ and proudly certified by CCIB, CAMSC, WBE and WEConnect International, reflecting its commitment to supplier diversity and reconciliation in business.

In 2023, Jennifer expanded her entrepreneurial portfolio with the launch of FireFlames Inc.—a line of clean, craveable, bag-swag hot sauces rooted in her love for uniting people through purpose-driven product development. The brand aligns with her personal vision, mission and values, while also supporting community-driven initiatives.
