Steve Hasker attended the University of Melbourne, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Commerce. Hasker also completed his Master’s degree in International Affairs and Master of Business Administration at Columbia University in New York City.

Career

Steve Hasker began his career with PwC, qualified as a chartered accountant, where he remained from 1993-1998. After five years working for the second-largest professional services network in the world, Hasker moved to McKinsey & Company as a partner in the global media, information and technology practice until 2009. In November of the same year, he became the Global President and Chief Operating Officer of Nielsen, an IT Services and IT Consulting firm, where he continued until 2017. One year later, Hasker joined CAA Global as the Chief Executive Officer then served as Senior Adviser to TPG Capital, a private equity firm, prior to assuming his role of President and Chief Executive Officer and a director of Thomson Reuters in 2020. Thomson Reuters Corporation was founded in 1851 and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada. The company was formerly known as The Thomson Corporation and changed its name to Thomson Reuters Corporation in April 2008. Thomson Reuters Corporation provides business information services in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia Pacific and operates in five segments. These segments include Legal Professionals, Corporates, Tax & Accounting Professionals, Reuters News, and Global Print. The Legal Professionals segment offers research and workflow products focusing on legal research and integrated legal workflow solutions that combine content, tools, and analytics to law firms and governments.

Achievement

Steve Hasker is a non-executive director of Appen Limited and a member of the Australia and New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. During his career, Hasker has lived and worked across North America, Europe and Asia.
