Once dubbed “the female Jerry Maguire” by CNN and ESPN, Molly Fletcher made a name for herself as a sports agent, eventually being promoted to the position of President of Client Representation at Career Sports & Entertainment (CSE). She then branched out into the realm of entrepreneurship, founding The Molly Fletcher Company as a platform from which to run her highly successful career as an inspirational public speaker and media personality. Over the course of her career, she has represented more than 100 Fortune 500 clients, negotiated more than $500 million in contracts, and inspired more than 2 million people through her speaking engagements. She is also the author of five nonfiction self-help books and the titular host of the Game Changers with Molly Fletcher podcast.

Early life

Molly Fletcher was born in 1971 and grew up in East Lansing, Michigan, where she attended East Lansing High School from 1985 to 1989. As a young woman, she enrolled in Michigan State University, graduating with a BA in communications in 1993. She also played competitive tennis on the school’s varsity team between 1989 and 1993, captaining the team during her senior year.

After completing her studies, Fletcher moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she negotiated her first contract by bargaining her way to free rent at an upscale apartment complex in exchange for giving other residents free tennis lessons.

Career

Beginning in 1996, Molly Fletcher went to work for Atlanta’s Career Sports & Entertainment (CSE), quickly rising through the company’s ranks until she earned the position of President of Client Representation. During her almost two-decade tenure at CSE, Fletcher represented more than 300 sports figures, including NBA coach Tom Izzo, former NBA player and coach Doc Rivers, pro golfer Matt Kuchar, Baseball Hall of Fame inductee and broadcaster John Smoltz, legendary NFL quarterback Joe Theismann, and sportscasters Ernie Johnson Jr. and Erin Andrews. She is widely recognized as one of the first female sports agents.

After leaving CSE in 2010, Fletcher launched her own business, The Molly Fletcher Company, where she acts as CEO. The company organizes her various projects and endeavors, the most well-known of which is her career as an internationally touring keynote speaker. The Molly Fletcher Company also oversees two training programs, “Game Changer Negotiation Training” and “The Energized Leader”, each designed to help leaders overcome workplace complacency, and both devised by Fletcher herself.

Molly Fletcher published her first book, The Business of Being the Best: Inside the World of Go-Getters and Game Changers, in 2011. She would publish four subsequent works throughout the following decade, titled The Five Best Tools to Find Your Dream Career (2013), A Winner’s Guide to Negotiating: How Conversation Gets Deals Done (2014), Fearless at Work: Achieve Your Potential by Transforming Small Moments into Big Outcomes (2017), and The Energy Clock: 3 Simple Steps to Create a Life Full of Energy – and Live Your Best Every Day (2020), respectively.

She is also the creator and host of the top-rated podcast Game Changers with Molly Fletcher, where she interviews celebrities and experts in a wide variety of fields, including Arthur Blank, Dabo Swinney, John Mackey, Matthew McConaughey, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Simon Sinek. Additionally, Fletcher has given multiple TED talks over the years, with her 2021 lecture, “Secrets of a Champion Mindset” garnering over 1 million views on YouTube.
