Early life

Not much is known about Mark Leonard’s early life, as he is known in the media to be an “intensely private person.” He doesn’t do much in the way of interviews with the media and prefers to keep a low profile. What is reported though is Mark spent about 7 years in college and played a myriad of sports, including basketball and rugby. A bio prepared for one of his rare public appearances as a speaker at Ivey Leaders Forum at the Ivey Business School said that before his stint in venture capital, “he worked as a banker, valuator, mason, gravedigger, dog handler, bouncer, sapper, and wind energy researcher.” However, the media has questioned how much of this is true. It is also reported that he is a devoted family man.

Mark Leonard founded Constellation Software Inc. in 1995. CSI is a Canadian diversified software company based in Toronto, Canada. The company went public in 2006. CSI, together with its subsidiaries, acquires, builds, and manages vertical market software businesses in Canada, the United States, Italy, Germany, India, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Switzerland, Austria, Israel, etc. It operates in the Public and Private Sectors. It serves government and government-related customers, as well as commercial customers.
