Lianne Wadi is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. A proud first-generation Palestinian-American, she focuses on preserving Middle Eastern cuisine through storytelling, hospitality, and innovation. Her goal is to honour her Palestinian roots while challenging herself and being creative in the kitchen.

Early life

Lianne Wadi grew up in Minneapolis, where she spent nearly ten years managing her family’s restaurant. During this time, she was also a student at the University of Minnesota, earning a degree in Marketing & Entrepreneurship.

Career

Wadi’s career in hospitality began in 2014 at Holy Land Inc., a Minneapolis-based family restaurant offering Middle Eastern cuisine. The restaurant was owned by her Palestinian parents. During her ten-year tenure at Holy Land, Wadi was responsible for managing catering, events, kitchen staff, operations, social media marketing, and client relations.

One of Wadi’s proudest career milestones was in 2024, when she managed a high-volume food booth at the Minnesota State Fair. During the 12-day event, Wadi generated record sales while managing staff, handling POS systems, and overseeing daily service.

In early 2024, Wadi left the family business and enrolled as a full-time student at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. There, she focuses on preserving her family’s Palestinian heritage with classic dishes while challenging herself to learn new cuisines and express her creativity in the kitchen.

In addition to cooking, Wadi is a food content creator on Instagram, where she shares her passion for food with others. She regularly competes in cooking contests and is an active member of the social media marketing team at the CIA.
