Career

Jennifer Reynolds’ career in investment banking began in the year 2000, when she accepted the role as Director at BMO Capital Markets. There, she advised clients on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and capital-raising strategies at one of North America’s top-10-largest banks for nearly a decade.

In 2010, Reynolds joined OMERS Ventures, the venture capital arm of one of Canada’s largest pension funds with more than $120 billion in assets under management. After about a year and a half, she left OMERS and began working with Stonecap Securities, where she had the title Managing Director, Investment Banking.

Her career took a significant step forward in 2013, when she was appointed President and CEO of Women in Capital Markets (WCM), a pivotal role that allowed her to merge her professional expertise with her long-held passion for advancing gender equality. As chief executive, she helped realize the organization’s core functions of maximizing the competitiveness and growth of Toronto’s financial sector and further entrenching the city as a prominent international hub.

During part of this same period (autumn 2020 to spring 2022), she also found time to co-chair the UN’s Financial Centres for Sustainability (FC4S) Network, an initiative that brought together financial centres from around the world to advance the cause of sustainable economic growth.

In 2022, Jennifer Reynolds became the CEO of Women Corporate Directors (WCD), the largest global membership organization for women in corporate board leadership positions.
