James Amschel Victor Rothschild (born August 19, 1985) is a British financier and member of the prominent Rothschild banking family. Born in London, England, James is the only son of Amschel Mayor James Rothschild and Anita Patience Guinness. He has two sisters, Kate Emma Rothschild and Alice Miranda Rothschild.
James attended Eton College and later studied at the University of London.
James began his career at Hargreave-Hale and Rothschild & Co. in London. He then transitioned into real estate investment at TriGranit, Europe’s largest privately held real estate developer, working from their Budapest headquarters for three years. In 2012, he moved to New York City to become a Partner at Lepe Partners, a technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) specialist investment and advisory firm. In this role, he was responsible for sourcing, executing, and managing a global portfolio of growth-stage technology assets.
James co-founded West Arrow, an investment and advisory firm based in New York, focusing on growth technology companies. He is currently the co-founder and Managing Partner of Tru Arrow Partners, an investment firm that collaborates with leading families worldwide, concentrating on private growth technology companies in sectors such as global internet, software, consumer, and fintech industries.
James married Nicky Hilton, an American socialite and fashion designer, in 2015 in the Orangery at Kensington Palace. They have three children together: Lily-Grace, Teddy, and Chasen.
James serves as a trustee of Yad Hanadiv (the Rothschild Foundation), which continues the family’s philanthropic tradition in Israel, including projects like the Supreme Court and Knesset buildings in Jerusalem.
