Alexandre L’Heureux

Alexandre L’Heureux is the President and Chief Executive Officer of WSP, a global multidisciplinary company with a 130-plus-year history that employs more than 67,000 people. Early life

Alexandre L’Heureux attended the University of Quebec in Montreal, ultimately earning two degrees from that institution. Between 1992 and 1996, he completed a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting, and between 1996 and 1998 he earned a credential in economics. L’Heureux began his career in 1996 at Deloitte in the certification and consulting services department, remaining there until 1999.

Career

In 1999, Alexandre L’Heureux joined BISYS Hedge Fund Services, an investment bank service company based in Bermuda, as Vice President of Operations. During his time at BISYS, which was later reorganized into Citibank – Hedge Fund Services, he acquired a great deal of insight into large-scale hedge fund operations, as well as the alternative investments industry. This role provided him with a solid foundation in finance and operations management, which would serve him well later in his career.

In 2005, L’Heureux accepted the positions of Partner and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Auven Therapeutics L.L.L.P. (formerly Celtic Therapeutics L.L.L.P.), a private equity firm that primarily focuses on investments in the life sciences sector. Alongside these new positions, L’Heureux also served as a Partner at one of Auven’s sister organizations, Celtic Pharma Management L.P. During this his five year tenure with these organizations, he honed his skills in investment management and financial strategy, and is credited with significantly expanding their operations and increasing their growth.

In 2010, Alexandre L’Heureux joined WSP, which was then known as Genivar, as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Based in Montreal, Quebec in Canada, WSP is a global professional services firm that specializes in engineering, design, and consulting services, and is dedicated to helping shape a sustainable future for its clients and communities worldwide.

In 2017, he was named a Fellow of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec (Quebec Chartered Professional Accountant Order), which is a considerable honour meant to recognize his contributions in the field of professional accounting.
