Yuan Liping received a 24% stake in Shenzhen Kangtai Biological Products in 2020 after she divorced Du Weimin, Kantai’s chairman. Liping was deputy general manager at Kangtai Biological Products from 2012 to 2015, and a company director from 2012 to 2015.
Liping rarely appears in the media and chooses to keep a low profile, so little is known about her early life.
Yuan has been deputy general manager of Kangtai subsidiary Beijing Minhai Biotechnology since March 2017. She owns the Kangtai shares directly, but signed an agreement delegating the voting rights to her ex-husband, according to a May 29 filing disclosing the division of assets. She serves as the vice general manager of Beijing Minhai Biotechnology Co., a Kangtai subsidiary, and was the director between May 2011 and August 2018. Shenzhen Kangtai Biological Products, or BioKangtai, is a Chinese biopharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and markets vaccines and other vaccine products. The company’s primary business is the development, production and sales of human vaccines. The product categories cover Class I and Class II vaccines. Liping holds a Canadian passport, although she currently resides in China.
