Early life

Born in 1995 in Toronto, Canada, ReissHub, whose real name is Michael Reiss, showed an early interest in technology and gaming. Growing up in a digital age, he was fascinated by the evolving world of online gaming and social media. As a teenager, he spent countless hours playing various video games, developing a deep understanding and appreciation for this form of entertainment.

His parents, both software engineers, supported his passion by providing him with the latest gaming consoles and a robust internet connection, which allowed him to explore the online gaming community extensively.

In high school, Michael excelled in subjects like computer science and graphic design, which fueled his interest in digital content creation. He was also active in drama and public speaking, skills that later proved invaluable in his streaming career.

Career

ReissHub’s journey as a streamer began in his early twenties during his time at the University of Toronto, where he studied Computer Science. Initially, streaming was a hobby; a way to share his gaming experiences with friends. However, his natural charisma and engaging commentary quickly attracted a wider audience.

In 2016, ReissHub started his official Twitch channel, streaming popular games such as “League of Legends,” “Fortnite,” and “Minecraft.” His approach combined skilled gameplay with humorous and insightful commentary, setting him apart from many other streamers. He also created content that extended beyond gaming, including Q&A sessions, tech reviews, and collaborations with other streamers, further expanding his reach.

By 2018, ReissHub had become a full-time streamer. He diversified his content by incorporating vlogs that showcased his daily life, gaming setups, and event attendances. His transparency and approachable personality endeared him to a rapidly growing fanbase.

He worked hard to climb to the top with the highest quality Fortnite analysis available online. He has over 200K subscribers on his YouTube, filled with Fortnite content. He is a supreme caster who elevates the game with his insight and analysis and has attracted a large fan base as a result.
In January of 2023, he issued a message that he would be leaving Fortnite. His statement included:

“Epic have decided to not contract me as an analyst for this year’s broadcasts, a decision I am very disappointed by. I’ve committed the last 3 years of my life to a sole goal of being the best Fortnite analyst in the world, and that I feel I have achieved.

“I’m extremely proud to have grown a Youtube channel to 100k Subscribers purely on high quality content. I didn’t follow trends, make cringe content, or spam videos, just made the content I loved. However, 2022 also showed me that Fortnite content is far too dependent on whether people like the game or not, and that for the style of content I make there’s no security or future in it. I will have to switch content eventually, and there’s no better time than now. I’ve learnt more in the last 3 years than I can possibly imagine about making content, and I’ll be putting that to the test on my Reiss Explains Channel where I’ll be uploading documentaries weekly. That channel will eventually be rebranded to Reisshub, and my current Reisshub channel will more than likely change to Reisshub Gaming. I’ll be uploading a few more videos on it over the next few months to phase out of Fortnite content and prepare my audience on that channel.”
