Lyle Langlois is a seasoned financial advisor with a wealth of experience in the investment industry that spans over thirty years. Today, he serves as Senior Investment Advisor at Langlois Brown, where he leads a team that is committed to providing the highest level of service for its clientele.

Career

Lyle Langlois’ journey in the wealth management industry started in 1986 when he began working at Great Pacific Management, an independent investment management firm located in Western Canada.

Lyle went on to amass a wealth of experience in the industry by holding multiple roles as a senior advisor at various emerging independent financial management firms. His contributions left a mark on well-known firms such as Cartier Partners, Dundee Wealth, HollisWealth, and iA Private Wealth. His leadership played an essential role in shaping the strategic directions, business prospects, and accomplishments of these organizations.

Recognizing an unmet need for a dedicated independent family office that could cater specifically to his clients, Lyle partnered with James Brown to establish Langlois Brown Wealth Management in 2004. This office was designed to address the unique financial needs of both families and individuals while upholding the principles of independence and excellence.

Lyle Langlois has several professional designations that serve as a testament to his commitment to serving the financial management needs of his clientele. These include the prestigious FCSI® (Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute) designation, highlighting his profound proficiency in the field. Additionally, he holds the Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM) designation awarded by the Association of International Wealth Management (AIWM), further reinforcing his global perspective and experience.

In 2003, Lyle’s outstanding contributions were acknowledged when he was selected as a Finalist for the Canadian ‘Advisor of the Year’ award.

Lyle and his partner James Brown built their firm on the principles of independence and objectivity. Within this framework, they have shaped a family office that places great importance on nurturing personal relationships with clients and establishing trust in making collaborative investment decisions together. The approach has led to an impressive period of growth. While they were still with Dundee Wealth, in 2011, the Bank of Nova Scotia made an unsolicited bid to purchase the firm, rebranding it as HollisWealth. On making this bid, the Bank of Nova Scotia determined Dundee Wealth’s AUM to be $62.6 billion. Langlois Brown’s most recent transition occurred in 2017, when HollisWealth was sold to iA Financial Group, now iA Private Wealth.

Lyle and his team continue to work with a wide range of clients, from individuals and families to corporations and trusts. Their dedication to the craft of wealth management, along with their commitment to maintaining an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect, has led to great success for the firm, bringing their AUM to over $560 million at the present date.

Lyle has demonstrated a passion for philanthropy. For the last few years, he’s served on the committee for the Classic and Contemporary Car Invitational, helping to raise over $2.6 million for Canuck Place and the David Lede House. This year alone, the event took in $888,589.

Lyle participates annually in the Ryan and Lucas Johansen Charity Golf Classic to benefit the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation. Lyle has been a long supporter of the Johansen brother’s journey to the NHL. He and his family were in attendance for the Hershey Bears 2023 Calder Cup championship game, where Lucas Johansen was a key participant in the Bears’ victory. This year, the Johansen Charity Golf Classic event took in over $264,000 for the ERHF.

Lyle has also sponsored amateur cycling events and contributed generously to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation. He also provides sponsorship for the amateur choral group Chor Leoni Men’s choir performances and programs.

Lyle’s experience and generosity of spirit have made him a much sought-after guest speaker for the financial sector’s industry events. He’s happy to share the hard-won wisdom of over 35 years of experience as a Vancouver-based investment professional.

Lyle Langlois brings not only a wealth of experience but also insight and dedication to every facet of his career. His journey serves as a testament to his impact on the investment industry and his dedication to advancing the financial well-being of his clientele.

In his personal life, Lyle has been married to his wife Leslie since 1986. The two share two beautiful children. The family resides in West Vancouver, where they enjoy recreational sports like skiing, golf, and traveling. To date, Lyle has been a resident of the lower mainland his entire life.
